Consultation with other companies and external organisations to identify:
- hallmarks of best practice;
- ways of achieving administrative simplicity and practicality, and
- key learnings from the experiences of other companies who have implemented international employee giving / matching programs.
Consultation with staff and management to identify:
- the range of current activities and programs around charitable contributions, and matching of staff giving;
- the views and opinions of management and staff (at Site level) about how they would like to see a matched giving program structured, and
- any issues that may affect the practical implementation of the program.
To achieve these objectives, CAF Australia worked with Positive Outcomes and CAF International, as well as other alliance partners.
Administration of pilot program:
- CAF administered the program in three countries for the initial trial period between April 2002 and March 2003.
- The coal mines in Queensland have so far shown very positive results. Participation rates of up to 15% have been achieved.
