CAF has launched an online giving program for one-off credit card donations, for both the Myanmar Cyclone and the China Earthquake. As part of our commitment to Donor Preference, donors are able to nominate to give via a wide range of Agencies for both Appeals.

The emergency situation in both countries is imminent. CAF’s alliance partner DORS in Sichuan (China) is currently working from a tent and is bringing us tales of destruction and sadness. In their town, 70% of buildings are either destroyed or badly damaged and they were well away from the epicenter of the quake. It will no doubt take many years to rebuild people’s lives, homes and hearts.

In Myanmar, as well as supporting many of the larger Aid Organisations through our Appeal, CAF is making donations to our Thai alliance partner Diverse Ethics (Childs Dream). Childs Dream has provided immediate funds for ‘on the ground’ assistance including food, blankets and medical supplies for 14 in country emergency relief Myanmar teams, by passing the visa problems being encountered by many of the foreign teams.

Despite the challenges encountered, lives are being saved and long term re-building plans will be put into place by the efforts of the international and local relief organisations that rely on our donations.
