Charities - Workplace Giving
Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Workplace Payroll Giving programs allow employees the opportunity to make a significant and lasting impact on the work of their preferred not-for-profit organisations through a direct tax deductible donation from their pre-tax pay.
This system of giving provides a wide range of benefits to the employer, employees and the recipient not-for-profit organisations.
Charities Aid Foundation can assist Employer's in the implementation and development of Payroll Giving in the workplace and maintain all back-office administration to minimise costs for all parties, especially recipient not-for-profit organisations.
More than 900 not-for-profit (DGR) organisations are currently recipients of the program (Jan 09). Funds are granted based on donor preference, which means that when an employee nominates your charity the necessary validation checks are carried out and then funds are distributed monthly by CAF. - Pre-tax benefit means donors can afford to give more
- CAF cost effectively manage the processing and administration
- One lump sum monthly EFT into charities bank account
- No tax receipting of donors is required
- Donor information provided to charities makes for long term sustainability
- Even small, but regular amounts add up in the long-term
- Corporate matching may also apply to some programs
- Opens other opportunities Eg. volunteering, pro bono, strategic partnerships etc.
An employer has 1800 employees. 15% of them each donate $30 from their monthly pay through Payroll Giving. That equals $8100 per month. Over a year, that's $97,200 and that's before any matching from the employer.
Workplace Payroll Giving is a great way to raise long-term, regular funding. Developing relationships with existing donors and a pro-active approach to securing new employer and employee participation in Payroll Giving is what ultimately brings results.
Once your organisation becomes a recipient of funds, we encourage you utilise monthly donor reports supplied by CAF to communicate with donors and thank them for their support.
