| Background |
- These scholarships were first established by the Premier for teachers of American History with the 1999 $50,000 Fulbright Distinguished Fellow Award.
- Approximately fifteen
companies now fund scholarships in a number of subject areas including sport, science and special education.
- Approximately thirty scholarships are awarded annually to current teachers in NSW government and non-government schools and TAFE institutes.
- Members of the public, and in particular corporate Australia, are invited to donate to the foundation account.

- To offer corporations and individuals the option to donate to the foundation account, and
- To enable teachers to study overseas for up to six weeks on aspects of teaching relevant to specific areas of the NSW schools' curriculum
