    New Foundation Account - RASV

Name of Entity RACV - Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria
    Background

The RASV have been discussing the concept of a Foundation for several years and had found the issue difficult. The President, Jack Seymour, approached CAF for advice and assistance.

    Proposal

Following a series of discussions with the CEO and marketing staff it was decided to open a New Foundation Account. At that stage there was no decision on the name of the Account. The initial funds were lodged and work then commenced on a marketing and communications strategy.

    Objective

To create a fund which would support innovative and sustainable ideas, research and education in the agribusiness sector in Victoria.

    Strategy

Further meetings have been held with the RASV staff and President to discuss a launch and target areas for support. It was agreed that primarily members would be approached on a personal basis and other strategies would need to be developed to market the Foundation Account to business, government and other potential supporters.
It was further decided to have the launch at the time of the first major donation.

It is the intention of the RASV to maximize opportunities available through public exposure obtained through the Royal Melbourne Show and other regional shows.

The rebuilding of the Show Grounds site is an exciting initiative that has been supported by the Victorian Government. This will also enhance the profile of the RASV particularly in the Melbourne metropolitan area.

The RASV Foundation Account has recently been established, and already considerable work has been done by the RASV staff to prepare an exciting and credible marketing strategy. It is important that the Foundation be seen as an integral part of the new vision for the RASV.
